When and Why Dethatching is Important!

Dethatching is removing a layer of decayed plant matter allowing water, nutrients, and air reach the soil with ease.

For warm-season grass such as Bermuda, St. Augustine, or Zoysia it is best to dethatch one time a year as soon as the grass starts turning green. Dethatching when the grass is dormant can damage the grass beyond recovery.
